StayCentral is a group of uniquely decorated, corporate apartments in inner Melbourne, that aims to give my guests a personalised experience when they book and stay. When I began this accommodation business in St Kilda, the original plan was to become involved in the backpacker market. I decided instead that I should buy nice apartments that I could live in myself, if the backpacker concept failed.
On finding my first apartment in the Majestic, in Fitzroy St, I thought it was too good to offer to backpackers. So I made the decision to offer it to more mature travellers; those who want some very nice, spacious accommodation, but didn’t want to pay expensive hotel prices.
I ran the business with the one apartment for six months, and then started buying more apartments in St Kilda, Southbank, Port Melbourne and Brunswick, as the demand for really nice apartments grew. Only four years later, with five apartments, my business was known around the world, with guests arriving from many different countries each year. I now have guests from all over the world and from interstate; many of them returning guests.
StayCentral now manages multiple properties for other property owners around inner Melbourne, and you, as my guest, can enjoy the benefits of my experience in creating comfortable ‘homes away from home’, in CBD, Hawthorn East, Richmond, Collingwood, Fitzroy, Rosanna, Fairfield, Heidelberg Heights, Northcote, Coburg, Brunswick, Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Port Melbourne, St Kilda, Prahran and Southbank.
