StayCentral is a unique group of serviced, corporate apartments in metropolitan Melbourne. Each property has been chosen for its distinctive appeal and is individually furnished; ensuring StayCentral offers a unique range to meet a variety of needs.

We hope you feel very much at home from the moment you arrive. We also offer excellent customer service from the time you first contact us to make a booking, through to the end of your stay. So please give us a call if you require anything.

When we began this accommodation business in St Kilda, the original plan was to become involved in the backpacker market. But it was decided that we should buy nice apartments that we could live in ourselves, if the backpacker concept failed.

On finding our first apartment in the Majestic, in Fitzroy St, we thought it was too good to offer to backpackers. So the decision was made to offer it to more mature travellers; those who want some very nice, spacious accommodation, but didn’t want to pay expensive hotel prices.

We ran the business with the one apartment for six months, and then started buying more apartments in St Kilda, Southbank and Brunswick, as the demand for really nice apartments grew. Only four years later, with five apartments, our business was known around the world, with guests arriving from many different countries each year; many of them returning guests.

Now you, as our guest, can enjoy the benefits of our experience in creating comfortable ‘homes away from home’, in the CBD, St Kilda, Southbank, Port Melbourne, Middle Park and Brunswick.

We have updated the décor and soft-furnishings regularly, and other inclusions such as LCD TVs and wireless internet access as they are requested by our guests.

Chris McDonald, our CEO, is a committee member of VicAIA (the Victorian Accommodation Industry Association). VicAIA was formed following the merger of the Victorian Holiday and Short Stay Industry Group (VicShortStay) and the Victorian Accommodation Services Association (VicASA). VicAIA represents the owners and operators of fully furnished properties and associated businesses that provide private dwellings for international and local visitors to Victoria.
