Brunswick, one of Melbourne's oldest suburbs, is a multicultural suburb with Victorian architecture and narrow streets that welcomes all kinds of people. You will find families, professionals and those with an alternative view on life which is what makes it such an interesting place. Brunswick offers an interesting selection of colourful stores, cafes, restaurants and bars, and a lively music scene.

For galleries and some more trendy cafes visit Lygon Street in East Brunswick, only a short stroll away. The Sydney Road Street Party is held every year in February and is a main event in the suburb. This is followed by The Brunswick Music Festival in March, featuring blues, roots, and world music it is one of Victoria's leading music festivals and a major multi cultural event for Australia.

Due to the many ethnic and professional groups that live here side by side, Brunswick is a great place to visit for its bohemian lifestyles, chicness, grunge and culture. The area is among the best-served by public transport in Melbourne. Brunswick itself is relatively flat and is ideal for cycling.
